Welcome to Yoker Allotment Association

The Allotment Association is now going into its third year so we are still learning a lot. The fist two years have been a hard slog with the weather making it harder to grow vegetables. Even with this allotment gardening offers a great way to relax and unwind in the fresh air, with the chance to meet people who share your interests. Cultivating an allotment is healthy exercise for people of all ages and  abilities, with something to show for your hard work at the end of the day.

Growing your own fruit and vegetables means you get really fresh, good tasting seasonal produce. You can choose to grow organically, or grow unusual varieties that are hard to find or expensive in the shops.

Allotment gardening and growing your own vegetables is a very rewarding activity, combining the gentle exercise in the fresh air  with the satisfaction of producing your own fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs for your family.

How do I rent an allotment?

Click the membership link to the left and follow the information

When you are offered a plot you will be required to sign a simple tenancy
agreement, which sets out your rights and responsibilities. You will be expected
to keep your plot cultivated and tidy. Before you take on a plot, why not visit
your chosen site one Sunday morning, a popular time when other plot-holders
will be around to help with advice or answer any questions you may have.

This site aims to bring together the members of as many  other allotment growers as possible to share and learn from each other.
For those who are new to allotment growing of vegetables and the like this site is an ideal resource to get those hints and tips.

As a community site i would like to offer as much helpful information as possible. So if you would like to offer any additional
details to this webster please contact me and let me know. I will gladly add any items  related to allotments.
