Useful Websites:

Glasgow Allotments Forum was set up to represent allotment sites and plotholders throughout the Glasgow City area.

To do this we:

  • Hold regular open meetings where plotholders and site representatives can discuss issues of mutual interest
  • Participate in events where we can disseminate information about allotments
  • Lobby the council on behalf of sites and plotholders

VegetableExpert.co.uk - planting, growing, storing and eating vegetables

We hear all the time that growing your own vegetables can be cheaper, more interesting, and better for you.

Relax. Vegetable Expert is here to help. Whatever your level of expertise and whatever your interest, we hope Vegetable Expert will become your one-stop resource for the information you need - when you need it.

We know from personal experience that growing your own vegetables can be hugely rewarding. But it can also go wrong - especially if you don't have a reliable expert on hand to offer advice. That's why we created this site.

From planning your patch to nurturing your greenhouse seedlings, we're with you every step of the way........

This is an amateur site targeted at keen amateur growers, to help them avoid some of the mistakes that I have made, and bring some of the latest developments in growing fruit and vegetables to their attention. Having grown fruit and vegetables since I was a child, and cultivated allotments for the last ten years, I have picked up quite a bit of knowledge along the way. But you are always learning from your own continuing experience and the experiences of others.
